Edmund Kok is a Director of Amica Law and a Singapore registered Patent Attorney with 13 years of practice. He has the distinction of being part of the pioneer group of locally qualified patent attorneys in Singapore, and has passed the Malaysian patent agent qualifying examinations.

 

Since graduating from university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Edmund entered the patent profession in 1999 and has been working with many government-linked research institutes, multi-national companies, universities and start-ups drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a broad field of technologies, with a particular focus on biotechnology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, plant varieties, biomedical and general mechanical devices.

• Apart from drafting and prosecuting patent applications, Edmund’s scope of his work includes:

• Providing strategic advice on the protection of inventions

• Advising patentability of inventions

• Advising on the validity and infringement of patents, and revocation of patents

• Patent portfolio management

• Advising on pharmaceutical product registration and patent linkage

Edmund has also been involved in IP audits and due diligence, patent litigation cases in court and opposition hearings at the European Patent Office.
