Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the reduced fees, an applicant’s annual sales turnover must be less than RM500,000 (~USD118,350). This should be evidenced by:

• For Individuals/Sole Proprietors/Partnerships:

  • Copy of certificate of registration with relevant authority (for sole proprietors/partnerships only); and

  • Declaration stating annual sales turnover is less than RM500,000;
     

• For Associations/Bodies Corporate/Institutions:

  • Copy of certificate of registration with relevant authority

  • Either latest audited financial statements showing annual sales turnover less than RM500,000 or copy of tax payment submitted to Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (or recognised body) confirming turnover below RM500,000.

 

An applicant must apply for the fee reduction together with supporting documents, and the Registrar will issue a same-day decision on eligibility. Once approved, the applicant can proceed with their trademark application with payment of reduced fees.

• Act quickly - the program ends 31 December 2025;

• Gather required documentation to demonstrate eligibility; and

• File applications before 31 December 2025.
